What We Do

Woman teachingWe specialise in supporting those groups of people who have had little formal education, those who have been marginalised both socially and financially and for groups who have found that the formal educational structure did not suit their learning styles.

People Like Us believe that things like citizenship, community - the mechanisms that rule our lives are best found out about collectively. Ordinary people (in other words - everyone and anyone) pooling their insights and helping each other. We excel at producing original, enjoyable, exciting learning situations where this can happen.

A group of people outside Radio MerseysideWhen confronted by a group of local people who wanted to exchange ideas across different communities, we linked up with Merseytravel and ran "Bus Roots" using buses, trains and ferries as a catalyst for learning and discussion. Our response to Liverpool's changing face and growing estrangement of city people from their surroundings and countryside which was supported by Liverpool CVS to take inner-city learners to live in a self sustaining community in Lancashire.
